Before becoming an author, he spent years working in the skilled trades as a carpet installer and repair specialist, building a career through hands-on work and entrepreneurship.His perspective on authority, law, and responsibility is also influenced by personal experience. Having faced serious legal consequences earlier in life, Estes writes with a strong awareness of accountability, justice, and the realities of human failure.
